Original documents: Carry originals only for in-person visits — do not hand them over permanently unless explicitly required.
Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click 'Farmers Corner > New Farmer Registration'. Choose rural or urban farmer registration. Enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on the Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Fill in the online form with state, district, sub-district, block, village, farmer name, category, bank account details, and land information as per land records.
Farmers without internet access can visit their nearest CSC or state Agriculture Department office / Patwari / Gram Sachiv for assisted registration. The government official or CSC VLE registers the farmer on behalf using Aadhaar biometric authentication.
After registration, the application is sent to the state government's revenue / agriculture department for verification. Officials cross-check the land ownership details against the state land records database (Bhu-Naksha, Dharani, Bhulekh, etc.). This is the main validation step — incorrect land record details or name mismatch cause rejection at this stage.
Once the state verifies the land record, the farmer must complete eKYC on the PM-KISAN portal. eKYC options: Aadhaar OTP-based (on pmkisan.gov.in), biometric face authentication (via PM-KISAN app), or OTP-based eKYC at nearest CSC. Without eKYC completion, installments are put on hold even for verified beneficiaries.
After state verification and eKYC, the central government releases ₹2,000 installments (three per year: April–July, August–November, December–March) directly to the farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account via PFMS. An SMS is sent on the registered mobile number when each installment is credited.
For corrections in name, Aadhaar, bank account, land details, or mobile number, visit 'Farmers Corner > Edit Aadhaar Failure Records' or 'Update Self-Registered Farmer' on pmkisan.gov.in, or approach the state Agriculture Department. Corrections require re-verification by state officials.

Application facilitation and grievance resolution at block level
Assists farmers with registration, eKYC, and corrections; escalates land record discrepancies to Tehsildar.
Self-registration, eKYC, installment status check, beneficiary list, and correction of registered details.
Track status of DBT installment payment and verify whether funds have been released to the bank account.
Farmer registration, eKYC via face authentication, installment status, and grievance filing.
The government has made eKYC compulsory for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. Existing registered farmers who have not completed eKYC have their installments suspended until eKYC is done on the portal or via biometric at CSC.
Cultivation alone does not qualify. The land must be officially registered in the farmer's or family's name in the state revenue records (ROR/7-12). Tenant and sharecrop farmers are not covered.
The installment is sent only to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. If the bank account is not linked to Aadhaar, the payment fails. Visit the bank branch to link Aadhaar to the account before or immediately after registration.
The government conducts periodic audits and deduplication. Ineligible persons who received PM-KISAN installments (e.g., income tax payers, government employees) receive recovery notices and must refund all amounts received.
Any variation in name (even minor spelling difference) between Aadhaar and the state land records causes eKYC failure and registration rejection. First get the name corrected in land records at the Tehsildar's office before applying.
